Default Is this a good deal?

If the price does not get to high, I might just get the "Big Dog" engine. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> I think I would keep this in the garage and change up a few things. Then when my tranny goes, get a beefed up 4L60E and drop the 6.0L <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
What is a fair price for this engine? Thanks for any feedback.

back when i was looking i would have gone $2000 for that, maybe a little more, that one has a lot of extras but you probably don't need them.

i am thinking they are looking for more like $3000 or $3500. you can get a used 01(aluminum heads) or newer longblock for around $1000 if you are patient and keep your eyes open.

Looks fishy to me. A new engine with LS1 heads, why? That engine looks used to me. I just don't like the look of that add. Just my $.02

That motor is a 99 or 00 model. It originally came with the 6.0 iron heads. The main problem with that setup is the crank is different from the 01+ models. This will keep it from being an easy swap into a truck.

The crank is different? I thought they only changed the cam and heads from 99-01. That sucks. Thanks for the heads up BigTex.

I don't know what the reserve is gonna be, but if I can get my hands on it for a low price, then it might be worthy. The heads and cam would have to go for sure. I want some 2001 6.0L heads to P/P, and a custom grind cam. I figured I would sell the LS1 heads and cam, to help pay for the 6.0L heads. As long as the block, pistons, and crank are good, I would be happy. The add does seem a little fishy. It's probably a 99, thats why it has the LS1 heads/cam on it. The engine could have been sprayed heavily too, who knows. I did find a 2001 6.0L block for about $550, might be a better project anyway.
Thanks for the replys.
