Headers or Converter
Ok, if everything goes well on the truck and they replace the motor, should I get a converter or headers? I ordered the headers from Mike Hamm on 11/9/01 and have had lots of trouble getting info on why I don't have them yet (was told 4wks when I ordered) I have not paid for them yet. So the question is wait on the headers or take advantage of Tbyrne's $75 off a T/C ? I was thinking a TT 3000. The shop I have the truck at said since the motor is out, they MAY work with me on putting a T/C in. I can only do any off this if I don't get screwed on the aftermarket warranty.

Re: Headers or Converter
A T/C would be easier to get installed while your truck is all broken down. Might as well get it done now. I saw a post by John from PV that said all current production of Hamm headers has been halted for a couple of weeks while they upgrade some stuff.
Look for a slightly used T/C from the the boards. You are sure toi find on in Houston, and get it wuicker than having it shipped. A current f-body T/C will fit our trucks, but the stall speed will be a little less. So a truck converter rated at 2800 would = a f-body rated at 3000. Same T/C. Look at yanks site and compare the truck models and the car models. www.converter.cc

Re: Headers or Converter
I'd DEFINITELY go with a converter first! You'll see a LOT more from the converter than you will from a set of headers. Just ask Jason 98 TA about the difference after his Yank 3200 went in. <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[Burnout]" /> You will easily see .4-.5 from the torque converter, and you'll see .1-.2 from the headers. The torque converter is, by far, the best bolt-on you can do for any A4-equipped vehicle.

Re: Headers or Converter
Driveability went down on the street in 1st gear. I have to ease on the gas until it shifts to 2nd before I can lay into it. I'd go with the headers first b/c either way you'll probably end up going with both and you may like it enough with the headers only. I did the headers first and I'd put them on before the converter again if I had to do it over.
