header install help

Default header install help

i have some pasetter longtubes with no flanges on them just a smooth end... what the best way to have them attched to the the rest of my exaust just cut an weld a pice back in or do they make a pipe the will bolt in were the factory y pipe dose??????

You need the pacesetter Y pipe, the LT's were not intended to bolt up to your stock Y, if I am understanding you correctly. But to connect the headers to the pacesetter Y, you will want to use a lap joint band clamp, available at NAPA for around $13. They look like this:



EDIT: Also throw some copper RTV in there for leak protection!

most guys i kno just cut the factory y down an weld it the the lt..... im just seeing witch was is better an cheeper.......... any websites that i can find the pasetter y pipe?

I have not heard of many people cutting their stock Y and welding it, seems like a bad idea if you ever needed to pull the headers off to drop the trans or something like that, not to mention you have these 3" collectors going to a 2 1/4", or whatever stock is, Y pipe. If you need the cats to pass emissions though, that might be a quick and easy solution. Just my $.02.

ok thanks........ emissions i live in oklahoma i dont thank there such around here lol........ wonder if anyone on here has an used or new one they want to sell???
