Not exactly. Later IVC means the mix gets pushed back into the intake port.

Just an fyi, for my dowel rods I use a 3/8' wooden rod and then sand a flat side on it to about 5/16" thick or until it will just barely go into the oil passage in the block. Basically the same thing as the machined rods you buy off ebay but in wood. Never failed me.
