Default L92 swap question

Got a good deal on a L92. i just need to know if its a direct swap like the 4.8 to 6.0 swap or does it need anything else extra.

i could use the Lingenfelter 58x to 24x module for the ecm issue, right?
do i have to touch the sensors?

I am woundering the same.

What to do with VVT.

My 2008 Denali has VVT and I think it the best thing GM did to boost low end hp/tq.

How can one keep VVT in none VVT truck 2000-2004.

I know this is a very old thread, but also got a good deal on an l92 and can't find any info on headers. My question is will my pacesetter long tubes on my gen 3 5.3 clear the much larger exhaust ports on the gen 4 l92?

im running Pacesetters on my 6.2 but your starving the motor. you'd be better off with a 1 7/8" LT but i cant see spending 1500.00 on LTs.

also the swap if its not figured out.

drill side of the block for knock sensors (reuse your 04 knock sensors) extend your knock sensor harness.
find a gen IV timing cover
you may have to swap to your 5.3 oil pump im not 100% bc i didnt keep my stock oil pump on my 6.2

you cant keep VVT in a non VVT truck unless you do an entire wiring harness/ecm swap which is a pain.

Good to know the headers will work. I found a harness adaptor for the 52 to 24 tooth reluctor and it also makes it so you can use the 6.2 knock sensors. Even though I am getting the motor on the cheap all these little things are adding up to lots of $$$$$$ for this swap.

post what your talking about bc when i did my 08 5.3 swap into my 94 using a 99-02 harness there wasnt anything like your talking about.
your 04 system cant run a 2wire knock sensor done beat that question to death. all i know you can do is drill and reuse your stock knock sensors then extend your knock sensor harness. speartech makes an adapter that extends from your stock knock sensor harness to the side but its 55.00 + shipping. id rather just solder my own in there.

You are correct sir. I miss read about the knock sensors. The only harness you can get is to convert from 58 to 24 tooth reluctor.

yep...about 275.00 too which sucks but damn gotta have it vs taking the crank out and having a machine shop press the reluctor ring off and a new one on.
