Default Good days and bad days...

Is it just me, or does anyone else's truck seem to have days where it runs AWESOME, and then others where it feels sluggish?

I can't correlate it to weather or bad gas... it's hot and muggy today, and the truck's running strong. It was cool two days ago, and it felt like I was running crappy gas. I'm still on the same tank.

Speaking of gas... the truck also seems to run real nice and strong for the first 5 minutes after I fill up. Is it the cool/dense gas from the underground tanks?

There's gotta be SOMEONE out there that notices this!

Ive noticed the same thing many times. The extent of my experiences are a little more pronounced though. Last summer my AC just died. No prob, drove the other car until I got around to fixing it. I never did. During the winter I didnt use the AC. This summer its been cold as ice each and every day. During the spring 2 years ago my tranny started slipping badly. I parked it for a few weeks and it hasnt skipped a beat since. That is 100% truthful.

YES- You hit it right on the head with this. I swear it has a mind of its own. Some days I wouldnt try to run a tercel and some I would a race a vette.

I've *heard* that the computer "resets" for lack of a better term after a fill up. Something about relearning for the new gas that you just put in, or something like that? Anyone else have a clue what I'm talking about?

At this point, I don't think that even I know what I'm talking about. LOL

Scream - I know what you're talking about with the reset deal but, I think that theory was put to bed over on the efilive forum a while back.

I know exactly what you guys are talking about with your trucks. Some days are just better than others with no rhyme or reason it seems. I've cracked into it before and thought damn, it must be colder than I thought out but, when I pass this temperature sign it says 80. It also feels faster after being washed which doesn't happen very much.

greentahoe - I've done the same thing with the tranny slipping. Parked it for a few days and after sitting the thing doesn't slip anymore.........at least for a few more days.
