Got some good info for you guys on :exhausts:
so i picked up a book at borders it's called " Dyno-Proven GM LS1 Thru ls7 Performance Parts" it's got lots of useful info and it's olny $24.95
so i thought this would be very useful for all of us here at PT.net the first topic i'll post is about exhausts. and i will quote whats in the book so here we go.
first is a test on a ls2 crate engine take note that all tests were on a engine dyno. So the test is : Magnaflow mufflers vs. no mufflers
"This test was a simple one-all we had to do was run with the 3-in magnaflow mufflers installed on the 18-in collector extensions, and then again with the muffler removed. If the open-header crowd was right, we sould see a huge drop in power from the restrictive mufflers. As expected, testing showed that the impressive magnaflow mufflers cost no power whatsoever. In the back-to-back test, the engine produced exactly the same
power with and without the mufflers, clearly showing that it is possible to combine maximum power and a quality, as opposed to just loud, exhaust note. Of course we always made sure the LS2 was tuned properly with the FAST XFI management system, as proper tuning is critical for both safety and maximum power. whether equipped with the magnaflow mufflers or not, the mildly modified LS2 produced 467 hp and 456 ft-lbs of torque.
if theres any questions let me know and i'll look in the book and post them for i've let a lot out so let me know, and i hope this helps you guys that are looking for a muffler that is 100% not restrictive so you don't have to run cut outs i'll post about headers next so look for it... thanks for reading.

Buy the book Tyler.
M Halo, book has some good stuff in there. I've seen it, but not yet bought book. More LS material out now in books.

Ive got one on "rebuilding Gm LS series engines". very good and detailed book. doesn't go into performance info much, but does give great step by step on putting an engine together.
