It came with a free 160 thermostat. My question is weather I should use it or not? I have been told by some custom shops around here, that it will not offer any improvement, so to not bother. Others have said that it will cause the vehicle to run too rich.

I thought that the program would compensate for this, since it asks if you have a 160 or 180 thermostate!?

I know a few of you guys have this setup, what is recommended?

In Las Vegas I would run the 160 degree for sure.No way it will cause the motor to run to cold in the summer heat you have.

I installed a 160* stat in my truck about two weeks ago and it did make a little difference but not to much. I mainly did it to get maximum gain from the Hypertech and to have everything run cooler in the summer. I figure with the engine running cooler, the tranny will run cooler which can only help.
