WELL as u guys know im in the process of buildin a 6.0 its gonna be a high powered motor when i get done...i want to put it in my truck but its so damn heavy...i was thinkin of buyin a 2001-02 z28 to put it in...the only problem is i wont have alota $ left after i get done buildin the motor...do u guys think i could find one w/o a motor for cheap...whats the cheapest i could prob get one? thanks...i doubt ill do this but its just a thought....thanks!

the 6.0 motor is no heavier than the motor you already have in your truck, it will actually be lighter with ported heads, light weight rods/pistons and headers, so i don't see the problem putting it in the truck.

he has a good bunch to choose from even has 8.1s,6.0s,5.3s,5.7s, and 4.8s

actually the 6.0 motor is about 90 lbs heavier i think..b/c its cast iron.....im 99.999999% im not gonna do it...i thought id just get some opinions though.....im sure ill be happy with it in my truck although it weighs alot...it wouldnt be so bad but its 4x4 ext cab...oh well i love 4 wheel drive

The 5.3 and 6.0 are the approximately the same weight. They're both cast iron except for some 5.3L in a few new vehicles.

your 5.3 is the same thing as the 6.0, it just has a smaller bore. like xlr said they are the exact same weight, and you'll save weight on pistons/ rods in your rotating assembly which will help spin higher RPMs easier. hehe

you can find a rolling camaro. i know two people who sold theres rolling and they were nbs. i know one went for like no more than 10,000$ this is setup to drag only needing motor. had fuel sys for n20 and glide, 9", cage, rachet shifter, and some other stuff. It can be found and is alot funner to drive. but i would still do it to the truck because it is something most do not do.
