My trucks battery light came and message said check charging system so I checked the battery, belt ,alternator i had it checked out and it's good but when i disconnected the wire on the back i arc it twice now i have no power the trucks completely dead i need help guy's give some ideas i check and replaced 175 mega amp fuse it's good checked fuses i cant find anything wrong with them I'm lost point me in the right direction

So with the truck ideling what is the voltage output of the alternator? If its not 13.5v+ then your alternator is not working properly, period.

 

It was down to 10 .5 but i had it tested an it tested at a perfect 14.2 i have the truck all back together and its completely dead will do nothing no lights no clicks nothing

 

Well that would say the battery is dead, but the fact that it is dead means the charging system wasnt working. So in that either the alternator is not working or the cables are not making a good connection and its not charging. Have you tried a different alternator with a new battery?

 

No because the battery i have is an odessy battery 1.5 years old and the alternator I had tested and was good

Try replacing the battery and see if you have power. If you do, then the battery is bad or the connections were bad. If you dont, then you have a wiring connection (power or ground) problem.

Once you get power and you get the truck on take a volt meter to the positive and negative of the battery. If its below 13.5v there is something wrong with your alternator. Replace alternator and repeat test. If voltage is now over 13.5v everything is good. If it is below with the new alternator you have a charging signal from the PCM to the alternator problem.

 

Battery is fully charged with the volt meter it reads 12.1

 

In the cab completely dead

 

Battery sounds dead to me. Just because it shows 12v doesn't mean anything, it can have no amps to do anything.

I doubt the arcing did anything negative
