Default Good cam for maggie 2300?

Just wondering if my cam that I have in my 6.0 would be a good one for a forced induction application. I have the 228R texas speed cam. Not going to happen too soon, just checking to see if the cam would work good with it. Thanks for your input. Tim

Here are the cam specs 228/228 .588/.588 - 112. I don't know much about the supercharged world, so have no clue what specs makes a cam good for the application.

The consensus us that symmetrical cams (same int/exh) and low lsa cams are not ideal for FI. I was running a tr220 (220 220 112) and went to a 215 224 114 with the blower. Mangled03gmc is running a 112lsa cam with his procharger, and seems to be more than happy with it, so who knows for sure. You could try it and change it out if its not to your liking.

This is the general FI rule of thumb that I've always been familiar with also. You could try your cam and you may like it, but I bet that you'd do better with a more FI friendly cam, just my opinion.

That would figure that I got the wrong one. I like the cam as it sits right now. Is the idea that it won't have enough time to build pressure? I guess when the time comes, I'll have to see how it acts. I'd rather not swap out cams again, but if significant gains can be made with a new one, I'd probably do it.

I believe that you are correct, cams with more overlap will allow pressure to bleed off. Lingenfelter has some good blower cams (GT series), and the Vinci Trucker is another excellent blower cam that a few members are running here, both in 6.0's and 5.3's. Vinci Trucker=216/224 .551/.551 115...notice the big split and wide LSA The Lingenfelter cams also have longer exhaust duration and LSA's that are even wider than the Trucker's.

I run the Lingenfelter GT7 208/230 .554/.546 121 with my mp122hh and I'm happy with it, but I will also be moving to the 2300 down the line

Does Lingenfelter still make the GT7? I remember reading that they discontinued it since it has similar specs to the L92 cam or something like that.

Ya know, it may or may not be, but it is still listed as available on their website. Who knows?
