Yeah, more data required.
I think this is the most common topic of these forums. I asked the same questions not too long ago. Do a search, check the sponsers web sites, PM someone who's setup is similar to yours.

Engine size, mods, and how you want to drive will determine the correct range of cam for your truck.

how bout the 01 zo6 cam instead. it has a lower duration to help you out on the bottom end.

well i have a 5.3, with a volant cia, cats gutted with a single 3inch bullet, 3.73's front and rear with lockers.built tranny, and am getting a tb stall in a few days , and i have a superchips but am selling it and getting a wait4me , then after i install my cam get it custom tuned by futral motorsports, locally. and sooner or later some pacesetter long tubes. i tow quite frequently and this is my daily driver i also have 203k miles on it , but still runs like a top. i just want something with somewhat of a noticeable lope and performs well all around. the reason i asked about the 02 ls6 cam is cuz i already have one with ls6 springs, a freind with a fbody gave to me, at the shop i work at .waiting to be installed when i do my waterpump and timing chain.also do you guys think that a cam would premature my engine life at these high miles? and i was joking on the second post i made, i know yall get these kinds of post alot, i was just bored so i figured what the hell . this morning ive been looking at the cam thread page and learned a few things. i was thinkin about the comp cams 212/218????

If I were you i would go with something around a 222/222 .561 .561 112 lsa. It all depends on what your looking for. However no need to go higher than a 224/224 in a 5.3. No it wont premature your motor at all just replace springs to acomatate your lift. Replace your timing chain ,and while your at it prolly not a bad idea to replace your oil pump while your in that area.

Replace your gears also with the chain.
Could replace your push rods also.
