You need a 34" radiator to fit the 05 fans, basically you need the rad and fans together for anything after 05. Or its fine to have the 34" rad and use the ls1 fans...

I have fans from a Z. Easily controlled with a little relayed temp switch you can buy from most parts stores. I have $90 in the fans, $35 in the switch. Works awesome, comes on when temps require and always with A/C on. Simple and cheap

For what its worth, I just did an Efan swap on my 2002 Sierra 5.3L. $40 Junkyard Volvo Elec fan with shroud and stock relay. $15 adjustable thermostat from parts stores and Efan swap is done. Looks clean and was simple as hell to wire up.

I know the fan is more than enough to cool the stock truck as it works just fine on my 330whp Volvo (4cyl turbo) and nevermind the fact that the volvo rad is thicker and has more internal volume than the stock truck rad so I see no reason why the single fan would not work.

Does anyone know what the stock fan settings are for an 05 truck with the 34 inch dual fans? Looking for low speed (both fans in series) on temp and off temp, high speed (both fans in parallel) on temp and off temp, A/C high pressure on value, A/C high pressure off value, and both fans off after X mph value. Thanks.

Nevermind found a screen shot from another thread finally.

mine seem to run one fan on low speed for driving around town and 2 on low with the air on. I've only seen both fans on high when I disconnected the temp sensor.
