Default are gm 6.2L escalade engines good

i have a chance to "upgrade" my trucks engine with a... 6.2L escalade engine for cheap, real cheap. ive read on cadillac's website that they have 403hp and 413tq.. way better than my 5.3... with that being said what are your experiences with these engines?

2nd related question, will a 4l60e be good enough for this truck. i understand more hp and tq you have will stress any driveline component, but i have not done a lot of research on the hp levels of my trans. i forgot to see if the truck was awd or just rwd.. if its rwd i can get the engine and trans out of it.

3rd and last related question, can i use a 5.3L 's computer and wiring harness to operate the trans.. i know this question might not be able to be answered, but im gona throw it out there. i will check out the wiring pins on the 2 trans and make the finial conclusion, but figured i will ask anyway.
thanks guys,
clint

well first of all if im not mistaken the 6.2 escelade motor is the same as in the denali 377CU IN and im not %100 percent sure that the trans will work , but since youre gettin a 6.2 you might as well get upgrade to a 4l80e (6spd)

The L92 (6.2L) is in the Denali as well.

What truck the one in your sig?

If so you'll need the L92 ECM to run the engine because for one it's a Gen IV and second it has VVT. You might think about an 6l80 or the 4l80. The 4l60 won't like that much power.

If your really thinking about speartech can make a harness for you.

But it will bolt in place of any other Gen III/IV Lsx engine.

And the 4l80 isn't the 6sp the 6l80/90's are! The 6.2L's only come with the 6l80's stock BTW

yeah its for the truck in the sig. as far as speartech making me a harness, i dont think i would need their services, im very handy when it comes to reading diagrams and what have you. ive made a few harness for my conversions.
i didnt know they were backed by a 6 speed.. thats baller. i hope that escalade is rwd only... im not gona want to make my truck awd, and i have no idea about the conversion parts on the trans to make it an rwd trans only. if someone can help out on that one that would be pretty cool.
i also didnt know they had vvt... thats pretty cool to... im gona call him back to place my order for the motor/trans (if its the rwd)/acessores harness and computer... son of a b... im going to have to work in a electronic throttle.. hurm... thats why i wanted to run the 5.3 harness/computer.
those that know about vvt on the 6.2.. how does it work, are there extra components in the valve train or wha? im guessing yes.
later,
clint

There is a cam phaser on the front of the cam gear and it spins(Phases) the cam just alittle to improve the low end torque. It simply advancing or retarding the overall valve timing. Mast as some nasty cams for the VVT now might check them out.

Then you should be set on the harness. Some one was asking for the L92 pinouts in over on Tech in conversion and hybrids think some one posted them. That might help.

As for the DBW all you will need is a pedal.

I am not 100% sure but i thing the 6l80's 4x4 and 4x2 trans are the same save for a tailshaft on 2x4's. The output shafts are the same??

I have an 08 Sierra Denali w/ the 6.2, and after I installed a CAI, exhaust and had it tuned w/ HPTuners (zeroed out Torque Management) it runs very well. A 5.3 doesn't even compare to it (I had a 2000 Silverado w/ a 5.3).
