Default Gen V big block education

How well do stock Gen V blocks handle boosted stroker assemblys? Such as the 91-95 TBI 454 block or even the 96+ vortec 454 block? Also were any of the blocks roller cam? They were all 4 bolt main right? With a forged rotating assembly and ARP hardware throughout can the block withstand 1000 or so HP?

From 91 and up they should all be 4 bolt blocks, I know a few guys that use the V blocks without any problems. I run a late 60's High perf block that is bored .60 over with arp connectors and it makes around 1300hp. I have run the same block since 98 without any problems. Depending on the stroke you may have to do some clearance work on the pan rails and the bottom portion of the cylinders, (spent about 25hrs to clearance for a 4.25 stroke with al. rods).

That sounds reassuring. Will clearancing weaken the block any?
