Gains from 1.8 rockers

Yes, you can get a cam that gives you .583 lift, but you will be stressing the lifters more. Don't have any idea what that does to longevity, maybe nothing, but it would make sense that less stress on the lifters = longer life....

Over 600 lift no problems with lifters you just need good springs and proper valvetrain geometry and all is good. Proper length pushrod, properly adjusted valves, proper springs presssure and install heights and all is good. A stock lifter will work but an aftermarket piece will always be better.

sixliterhd: To answer your original question I think you will see a gain of 10 to 20hp with the accelerated lift type rockers and a tune on the stock cam. Maybe mrr23 will chime in here, he dynoed before and after with those rockers on a stock cammed LS1. Here are links to a couple of threads I started regarding using these rockers with an aftermarket cam, some good info in there:

if you want them, get 'em. the choice is yours.
you're not going to loft a lifter, bend a pushrod, break a valve spring, spit keepers out the exhaust, or anything like that. the "rocker ratio" thing seems to get beat up alot on the boards, but you what...them little geeky guys with the slide rules in their pockets, who sit around all day integrating and differentiating, filling in the area of that damn sine-wave...you know...GM Engineers...doesn't think there is anything wrong with increased rocker ratios.
look at the BBC. its been running 1.7 ratio longer than some of those here have been alive, and the new LS-7, what does it run...1.8.
go figure...
