Default front end problem, need help

Put my new wheels on and got the truck aligned. With in a 1000 miles my tires are feathered like crazy. I had the guy recheck my alignment and it is dead nuts on. We get a print out of the before and after on them. Any ideas on what it is. Tie rods and everything looks good. Could it be because i have wider rims on the back that stick out a tad and it couldnt be properly aligned? Help brand new tires and already feathered. BTW I got dunlops and they are super soft. The hook good but i doubt last long.

Try another Alighnment shop, his machine could be off. Do you have a pull to the left or right?

Try getting it aligned with you in it and a full tank of gas. I know that's some of the requirements for proper alignment on several newer vehicles.

If that doesn't work, try a 422 in there. You won't give them tires a chance to feather edge then

Are the tires wearing on the inside or outside? Feathering is usually a toe problem. Have you tired adjusting your tire pressure up, it might help alittle.

Very true. Also, even though your tie rod ends checked out fine, the idler arms on our trucks are still a week point of the steering assembly. If it has significant wear, it'll throw your toe setting off. It wouldn't hurt to check your wheel balancing either. One last thing, check your wheel bearings for play.

I have no idea if this pertains to cars/trucks with performance tires..... but...

I run soft/sticky tires on one of my street-bikes. The front tire will ALWAYS feather. It's just from the forces exerted on the tire while cornering, and the way the tire deforms.

Would this pertain to soft/sticky truck tires?
