Default friendly roll race 4.8 vs 4.8

me and my friend did a friendly roll race and dig just a couple hours ago , mods on mine are : CAI intake , bullet muffler , vette servo , and is tuned by mart racing in missouri. my friends mods were : exhaust , shorty headers , 2400 stall , ls6 cam , CAI intake , not tuned . Well from a dig my truck had no traction at first but was ahead until 25 when he past me and beat me by like 2 or 3 trucks. roll race from 25 I lost about 3 trucks again. Just looking for some tips on where I can start building my truck from , waiting on my Long tubes to arrive and also looking around already for a 373 posi diff . If anyone has one for sale pm please. thanks !

A nice aftermarket converter, those gears, and the LTs will make a big difference.

you can buy a junkyard 5.3 for cheaper than a converter. i would start there

if you want to hang in there with the 4.8, converter is a great bang for buck mod. dont be afraid to go on the larger side with a 4.8 since it is a rev happy motor. keep it between 5300-6,000 rpm and it will be happy.
