FLP rocks!! they are going to fix my tranny
that tranny is 4 months and 3 weeks old, they have a 3 month warenty. prety happy chuck is going to fix it, he really doens't have to. i just have to cover the shipping wich is understandable. i would recomend this tranny to anyone that doesn't plan on going over 600rwhp, they have great customer service, i think i am just asking too much out of a 4L60E to work in my truck, too much weight, too much traction, too much torque.

Good deal Jim. FLP is a pretty good company.
Have you decided anything about the future of your drivetrain/truck?

That kicks ***! Most places would tell you "tough ****". I am glad to hear that is going to be fixed for you, that is the way to do businees by making people happy.
Do you have a daily beater to drive in the down time or you gonna be in a "rent-a-box"?
Oh, check out my comparison of the motors...

leaning toward 2500hd right now, did you see that transfer case post? 2500hd can take over TWICE the torque the 1500 can, and a built 4l80e is good for 1200hp vs 600hp for the 4l60e. there is a 900lb weight penalty but you can get a front locker for the 3.4 ton! have to get a GMC if i do it, just can't get used to those new chevys.

That's really great that FLP will stand behind there product I hope that everyone takes notice because with customer service like we should all give them a second look when we are looking for parts or services.

Parish8, the 2500HD sounds like a deal. Ever have any thoughts about the 8.1L over the 6.0? Im thinking of a 2500HD 4x4 base model reg cab with the 8.1. Not to sure about superchargers or performance add ons. Also do you know about the company that makes the carbon fiber hoods for our trucks? Thats a big weight redux off the front end.

i will get the 8.1 if it can handle more power, what motor can be made to handle 1000hp the easiest? thats the question., i see that yello guy running a 15.3 with just intake and exhaust on a 6.0 3/4 ton(i think) seems like prety good numbers to me.

Both the 6.0 and 8.1 have cast blocks,4 bolt mains, forged pistons, and the LS1 design. The only downside to the 8.1 I know of is its not as high reving. Do you have any idea how much rwhp your puttng out? An old guy I know has a 2003 Z06 with an ATI procharger running 9psi and it makes 524rwhp. His best 1/4 so far is only 11.4,but thats probibly because of the slip in the stock clutch.
