Both the 6.0 and 8.1 have cast blocks,4 bolt mains, forged pistons, and the LS1 design. The only downside to the 8.1 I know of is its not as high reving. Do you have any idea how much rwhp your puttng out? An old guy I know has a 2003 Z06 with an ATI procharger running 9psi and it makes 524rwhp. His best 1/4 so far is only 11.4,but thats probibly because of the slip in the stock clutch.
what are you talking about? the 6.0 is a 6 bolt main and has cast pistons, the 8.1 is a completely diferent engine that the ls1 based motors. just a guess on RWHP but when i blew up that tranny on friday i would say i was over 600rwhp. i didn't get to hammer it for more than a few seconds so i can't say that the motor was going to handle it. i was trying out 9psi and a 100shot.

Great, I would hope they would fix it for yah. Your project is unique and alot of people have seen it on the web. From an marketing standpoint your rig is great advertising for products and you test things to the breaking point. Too bad you couldn't have some gear thrown your way or sponsored to some degree.

i see that yello guy running a 15.3 with just intake and exhaust on a 6.0 3/4 ton(i think) seems like prety good numbers to me.
Did you ever see Brooke Aycock's truck run? It's a '01 2500HD crewcab 4x4 6.0 . Ran 13.50's in Houston with a few bolt-ons & 125 wet shot.

now thats sweet, that gives me a nice base to figure what i might run, it will be awhile before i can go all out on the thing but right off the bat i would have>> ext cab insted of crew cab, bigger shot, headers and maybe a stall, not as tall of tires, looks like he is running full weigth. add all that up and i could be in the 12's before i put plates on it

Does the 6.0 really have 6-bolt mains? What about the 5.3s? Do you think that with my current mods, a 3000 stall, shorty headers, cutouts, and a 150 shot I will be able to hit high 12s?
