When you bolt the transmission up to the block there should be a small amount of play between the torque converter and flexplate if installed properly. Then you just slide the converter up to the flexplate and bolt it up. It's not much maybe like a 1/4" or something. That is going off my memory from years ago so......

that helps alot

anyways

straight from the PI manual

"make sure there is 1/16 to 1/8 clearance between the converter
and the flexplate
(this is to make sure the converter is installed all the way into the transmission properly).
If the converter has more than noted clearance, add washers between the flexplate and converter"

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Brand new built tranny with about 500 miles on it. From a dead stop, I gunned it, not realizing I was on loose gravel. The tires spun until I hit solid asphalt and the tires stuck, then boom, engine revs, but no go. Just like you, no 1, 2, 3, OD, R. Brought it back to my my tranny guys, Mike and Kendal at Toy Shop Transmissions. They take it apart and see that the output shaft split. They replace it for free and have the truck back to me in 1 day under warranty.

looks like Im not alone
but most of the failures ive heard about
usually end up limping home with a couple of gears missing

I guess I can look at the bright side and be glad it didnt
happen far away from home

glad to hear your being taken care of,
Im also glad to see Im not the only one with shitty luck

Just remember "Your gonna blow it up"

by the way the tune we put on the truck is 10 times better than what blow it ups was better gas mileage, shifts and more power plus it starts when I turn the key
