Default FLP 5 issues

yesterday friday 13 I blew up an FLP5 at 50% throttle

Had about 300 miles of easy breakin miles on it

went to pass a slow car that pulled out in front of me
and when it shifted 3rd revved up and I coasted to the side
and that was only at half throttle

no 1st 2nd 3rd OD or reverse

I dont understand
everything went perfect up to now
shifted good, run smooth

this sucks
I thought I was going extreme overkill with this one
and was hoping this would be the last time

well lets go pull it out... again

any ideas on what may have happened?
Is FLP open on saturdays?

Wow that sux. That tranny must have had a dud input shaft or something. It should just laugh at anything you throw at it. I was hopeing a level 4 would let me run consistant 11's, but now i dont know.

Seems from time to time the FLPs explode and then Chuck takes care of it without question.Does the information ever get out whether problems were human error or a parts failure?Who pays the shipping when that happends?

Mine did the same thing, I was told it was the pump, but they haven't opened the trans yet.

in my last truck i blew up my first flp in about 3 weeks but it was prety much my fault. i was racing someone from a light and there was a dip at the far side of the intersection, i got the entire truck off the ground and was at WOT when it came back down. i told chuck what i did and he didn't care, he just fixed it.

chuck has always been really fair with me about shipping.

I talked to Chuck this evening
Hes gonna start workin on the one that came out the truck "core"
monday as soon as it arrives
He'll take care of me ...no doubt in my mind
chucks a good guy

finally got her out
man Im getting good at this
I think it broke a hard part
if you look down the input shaft
you can see chunks of metal about the
size of a pencil eraser rolling around
behind the front seal

I gotta send the vig off too
to get cleaned out
might have em up the stall a little also
the PI is tight compared to the yank 3000
Not to mention it didnt fit right
I had to space it with washers
IMO You shouldnt have to do that on such an expensive
