thanks Chuck
I really doubt it was the tranny also
It just acted so good as far as the shifts and
how smooth and quiet everything was

I wasnt trying to slander FLP or the quality of
your product with this post
more so trying to see if this had happened to anyone else
especially the washer deal
that one threw me
Ive never had to do that on any vehicle Ive worked on
or read about it
until I looked through the PI directions
with bellhousing mounted to block
if you have a gap greater than 1/8 between tc and flexplate and you didnt use
the washers
It seems like you run the risk of not being fully engaged in the front pump

thats why I used them

I also have the tracking # on the verter if that'll help any
it should arrive 5/18

I really appreciate the great customer service you're providing
and being there when I call or getting back to me in no time.

product quality usually follows the same path as CS
from what Ive experienced

Im sure once we get this all straightened out everything will be fine

thanks again Chuck

I'm sure they will correct anything if there was a mistake and usually they will help me with any trans repairs if it was there fault. You should never have to use washers with one of these converters, IMO at least from my experience.
I'm sure will find out soon what happened here when I get the trans back and I here from PI. Until then will get you back on the road ASAP.

Hey Chuck, you're not in Naperville anymore despite your profile

For what it's worth, my recent FLT install with PI converter lined up perfectly without washers. My problem was the opposite. When I installed the trans, the torque converter was snug gainst the flywheel and would not budge. Turns out I didn't have the converter completely installed properly on the trans. Chuck said to spin and listen for the 3 clicks. Despite hearing it straight from Chuck, I tried to install it with only 2 clicks (not knowing obviously) and it just plain won't work that way.

Keep us posted on what you find.

i agree with the spacers chuck. if i have to put spacers in for the torque converter, it's going back. that can kill a pump in a hurry.
