I love the way my Flowmasters sound.

I don't care if it loses 10hp, I'll run them. I can make that up elsewhere.

Awesome!! I really appreciate it fella's..

So I will stick to my 50 series..

another stupid question while we're on the subject.. I have the exhaust dumping right out of the muffler before the rear axle.. does adding additional piping to take the exhaust to the back have any effect on power output? or would that be a waste of money.. opinions?

That's the biggest load of BS I've ever heard of So how come some 1000+hp cars are running 3" exhaust... I mean seriously. And a 1" exhaust tip on a motorcycle will not make it jump 20+ hp on a dyno... and have you ever even seen the inside of a straight through muffler... obviously not since you think they reduce in size...?

i had tru dual 40 series flowmasters and changed to a single aero turbine muffler 3" inlet and 3" outlet and i could actually feel the difference in throttle response although the areo turbine is just a touch quieter at idle it is as loud if not louder in the higher rpm ranges....just my 2 cents worth....by the way i have a 02 single cab with a 5.3L.

In defence

I should clarify I had a stock ZRX1200 which is known to be roughly 140hp and the pipe outlet was 1.25"

If you look inside a 2.25" glass pack, you'll find the louvers take up space inside that 2.25 and leave you with far less than 2.25 straight through

Currently, my 99 has no cats, stock exhaust manifolds, 2.5" mendrel bent Y, 18x3.5 collector, 3" mendrel to the bumper where I mounted a 50 series deltaflow flowmaster. It still drones and rasps like it should. Performance wise I'm not sure its much more than stock, and I blame the cam for that.

I guess it's different stroke for different folks. I absoultely hated my single in dual out flowmaster 40 series. I'm now running a dynomax bullet and couldn't be happier.
