Default Flexalite vs ls1 fans

I want to get electric fans for my truck. I want to know what experiences people have had from using both of these setups. Do they keep our trucks cool enough? Are flexalite's superior in cooling than ls1 fans. I would just hate for my truck to overheat because the fans can't keep the engine cool enough. I know with ls1 fans, it takes some thought and a little fab work, but that is not a factor. Cooling capabilty is my main concern. Thanks guys!

I hear people have no problems they actually run cooler with them. I gettin the Flex-a-lite 292 this weak. Im sure someone with them will chime in soon.

I have the Flex-a-lite 295 fans and I love them. The ls1 fans will do just as good a job but the Flex-a-lite fans look stock and not as ghetto as the ls1fans do, in my opinion.
Flex-a-lite fans cost me $320, that comes with the VSC and all the wiring, etc. Basically everything you need to do the installation.
The ls1 fans you can buy used off a wrecked car for about $100-$200 I think, but then you will need to buy a controller for them and all the other misc. stuff to wire/hook them up.
If cooling is your main concern, go with the ls1 fans.

Here is a good write up on the Ls1 fans if you end up with them - the only 'fabbing' is making simple brackets.....and you can get them for much less than the flexalite's - I got mine for $100 and I'm going to buy Allen's wiring harness to have my pcm control them. I haven't installed them yet but from what I hear it cools the same if not better than the clutch fan.

The flexalites will look more like stock, but I think I can live with some ls1 fans/home brew bracketry

I'd go with ls1 fans. You can get everything you need to wiring them up to the pcm from partsexpress.com for about $20.
