Because many of the mods would carry over. Makes no sense to me why someone would drop in a 6.0 when they could have a 427 stroker.
6.0~$1500
427~$15000

Not to pic on you Scream, but last I remember with all your mods and cam you still were slower than seeing red in his stock 5.3. He seems to run 14.8s failry consistant.
And, that was before the cam swap. My truck is running about .4 faster than it was this time last year, so I'm hoping for some 14.7-14.8 timeslips if I have the truck long enough to run it in cooler weather.

Have the truck long enough? You thinking about making a change?

Red: The truck is for sale. Need to get a house.

Who cares what size motor it is? Why argue the point? Instead of beating each other up over cubic inches, we should be helping each other make our trucks faster. This is just getting plain silly.

wow, yeah there it is right there. And for those with the 4.8s how much does it cost to leave the 4.8 in there? $0.

Horsepower costs money, how fast do you want to go?

Now that I think of it, I'm kindof glad I didn't get a 5.3 If the 5.3 option was roughly $700 more and a 6.0 swap is roughly $1500 then I didn't lose out on anything. $700 for a half liter or $1500 for 1.2 liters. I'll take the second option.

Except for the resale value when you slap back in the 4.8,The dealer will hit you harder than if you would have bought the 5.3 in the first place, try selling it your self when it's time and the book value difference is $350 for the guy buying it from you,so he will more than likely be seaking out a 5.3.Just saying with a SBRC you can make it run without doing a 6.0 and the 4.8 will cost you in the long run and you missed out on the cheap performance not going with the 5.3.Again it makes no sense to buy a 4.8 only to mod it and make it run like a 5.3 or better.$$$$$$$$ Sorry you missed out

Yada, Yada, Yada, If you have a 4.8 its faster, if you have a 5.3 its faster, so why not just go out and get a 2.2 liter s10 or colorado now, it will be the fastest. I think all of you need to visit parish8's website.
