Just looked at your site, you're running 3.73's. So that might be it, I'm running 4.10's.

 

that's only a 10% difference in gear ratio. I run 30.5" tires too. What was your approximate HP at that time? I'm making decent torque (564) at very low rpm and haven't yet had any traction issues while in 4wd on dry road. Wet, no problem. Damp, no problem, but dry, no way.

What is your current setup? Are you RC?

 

I'm running a 29" tire. I'm an ext. cab 4x4 as well. At that time I had about 450RWTQ at 3400~RPMs. Current set up is MID LS1 block 427.
