Ok, we finally got around to "trying" to get on my underdrive pullies last night. I f-ing hate that crank pulley!!! Ok, so we f-ed around with the 3-arm puller until we decided we were supposed to use the little tabs on the inside of the pulley to pull it off. Is this right? The reason I ask, is because as we torqued down on the pulley, then all of a sudden, one of the tabs snapped smooth off!!! The pulley didn't budge. What the hell am I supposed to do now? Hell, I was so pissed off, I put the f-ing belt back on and drove the SOB home. So, what is going to tear up on my truck now that I'm driving it with one of those little tabs snapped off? The pulley doesn't look any different with the engine running, but what can I do to get this son of a bitch off?!?!? Am I supposed to put the arms on the backside of the pulley or was I using the right locations to pull it off? This **** is really pissing me off, and I'm about 2 seconds away from throwing these suckers in the classified. Can someone please tell me how to get this F-er off!!!!! I also had to put on a new alternator today. After we took off the old pulley and put on the new one, then swapped back to the original, it went out. Damn my luck!!!!

That bites. Its posts like these that concern me as I'm about to do a cam install. With it being broke will put the crank out of balance. I wouldn't rev it to high. I'd probably try and put some heat on the pulley with a torch and try the puller again.
Here is a pic of a puller on the the pulley.

The puller should go on the backside of the pulley, with the arms going from the outside -> in, not from the inside -> out, if that makes sense. The tabs on the puller should be going in toward the center, and should fit on the backside of the pulley on the center part, not on the outside part.
We wasted a lot of time trying to do this the wrong way on my cam swap as well.

The stock pulley has two sets of tabs, one on the inside and one on the outside. I did not use either, I just set the three-jaw pulller to pull from the inside of the outer ring. I used a large breaker bar and it broke loose right away.

Might want to see if you can get ahold of a bigger 3-arm puller. Put the jaws on the back, outside of the pulley. Just an idea. I cut the head off my old pulley bolt and threaded it into the crank when I pulled mine off. Then thats what I rested the puller center point on.

Here is how to hook the puller up.
I wasted alot of time trying to hook it to the other tabs on the outside which doesn't work at all.
Now that you snapped one of the tabs off you will have to come up with something else.
