Default F-ck meineke, thats all i got

so i was up first thing this morning to get meineke to fabricate and weld on an off road y pipe for me cuz mine didnt fit my LT's right, he gives me this run around that they arent allowed to touch the vehicle if it doesnt have a catalyst let alone put on an off road Y pipe. he said they'd get fined 50k. so why the hell will every othe rperformance shop i have ever called be like ok yea heres your price to get it put on... they cant even do it for vehicles that are "off road only" such as drag only cars. i call BS. i talked to my friends dad who owns a repair shop and he was like "wtf i would do it but my welders broken until the middle of the week" i am so pissed right now because i am SO TIRED of running open header with almost no throttle worrying everytime i pass a cop. the guy at meineke was like "you're lookin at more than 1000$ of work here to get this back up..."2 cats for ~600 pipe for maybe 50 350$ in labor? i think not. depending on how much this fabbed Y pipe costs wherever i get it done, whether it be at my friends shop or MTI or ARD on saturday this install doing it "myself" might end up costing more than it would if i had it done professionally in the first place.
all i gotta say is F-ck meineke.

does anyone in the houston/katy area have any sugestions on an exhaust shop that would actually do this for me and not give me any ****? i just want my exhaust done with!!!

Affordable Muffler...as long as you come in w/ open headers and they don't have to take anything off hell put it on for ya...Fabbed up a complete exhaust while I waited, from the shorties back, and all I brought was the muffler ( Dual I/O Magnaflow)...Manuel's a great guy. thanks alot man, im calling them right now, ill edit in what they say. they are decently close to me too.
edit: damn these people are great. he said it would only take an hour, they open at 8, and it would be 160 cash for the 3" Y. i wonder why they want it in cash, maybe there really is some federal law about the cats and chosing not to install them. o well. im happy now.

a long ways from katy lol. i would actually go over there instead of putting a phone call through. it might seem kinda shady for them to get a call asking for a catless install. they can get in trouble for doing it

I'm pretty sure there are laws that will get places like that in a lot of trouble for bypassing emissions stuff. That guy was just covering his ***, which was a good idea.

Try Southwestern Muffler and brake on Hwy 6 North of I-10. It's only about 10 minutes north of I-10. They do really good work.
