Default exhaust problems!!!!

I was on my way back to a buddies house last night and went by a state trooper, i was only going 5mph over and didnt think anything of it on a 2 lane highway. I just happened to be getting off the next exit and he came flying up on me. He pulled me over and told me i cut someone off which didnt. There was someone in front of me in the slow lane and i went around cause they were doing like 40. There was a lil congested traffis going on. So i told him what i thought was up and then he asked if i had been pulled over before. I said yes and told him i got a speeding ticket in april(second one ever and the last one was 5 yrs ago) and been pulled over for little **** but no tickets. He said the exhaust was too loud and i gave him my window sticker which had the CORSA on it from being a SSC package. He didnt look to see if i had done anything else to it or ask about it . Anyways he said he had never seen that before and went back to his car. Came back 5-10min later and said it was a dealer installed item and was illegal. Gave me a citation for loud exhaust $100 and no tail lights $35 which when i got to my buddies house they were working. So to all you Regency, Joe Gibbs, Prosport, SSC owners or any one else have you ever had a prob like this. I called my dealer and asked about it and said it was BS, im going to call the vehicle outfitters wich do the prosport and ssc conversions on the GM's and exhaust on Toyota's. Im going to put resonators in anyways because it is lound with the LT's, was cool at first but all the attention lately is getting old fast. Just want your opinions on the matter. Oh yea i live in good ol' MA.

It is also the end of the month and they are all looking for something to give a ticket for to meet their quota. Whether i fight it or not it looks good on them. I am obviously fighting it and i have paper work to prove it. I called Vehicle Outfitters and the lady said they only had paper work that they give to the owner when they do the install which i have anyways. I called CORSA and talked to one of the supervisors down there. I told him the story and he said he indeed had paperwork describing how GM and Corsa had a license agreement and gave the exhaust a GM part # of some kind. Also some other legal stuff describing it being legal where ever, and he said to bring the window sticker too. I guess a few other people had called and had the same problem. So CORSA tech support saves the day again, ill try to post the paper work up when it gets faxed to me. If the trooper had looked under he would have seen there wasnt any cats, but he didnt so i lucked out, and im definetly not bringing that up in court.

On another note you guys had any experiance with resonators working well and i only have a RCSB so there isnt much space to cut some in?

I think you should just pay the fine. You arent just running a factory installed corsa, you have lts and ory. If they dig deeper they may end up fining you more or you may become a target for other police to mess with. And to top it off, you were speeding a little. I have a loud exhaust, and if I got a ticket for it, I sure wouldnt fight it and claim it was stock or compliant with noise levels, Not knocking you but just giving you something to think about.
