Default Exhaust Issues

I need some advice guys. Check my sig below for my truck info. Heres my questions though. I have a borla cat back right now, and am just not happy with the sound. It sounds good at WOT but at idle it quiter than my moms stock tahoe. Id like to get some pacesetter headers with the y pipe. My question is waht should I do from there back? I want to put a new muffler on and maybe just some turndowns. I dont want anything that is super loud, but something that is nice and noticable. Can anyone recomend a muffler, or maybe post some pics for me so I can get some ideas?

If you're going to get some long tube headers, I would say true duals, X-pipe and Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers. Before I sold my Silverado, I had duals put on with the Super Turbos and it sounded good, nice and deep, not to loud or to quiet and didn't resonate in the cab.

I have the Lt's and ORY pipe, with a hooker Aero Chamber, its about as quiet at idle with flowmaster+manifolds, but like others said, it screams@ WOT, it doesnt have that ringing noise to it either. Just imagine a flowmaster without the ring to it, lol.

i have something called a mellotone muffler it's made like a flowmaster 40 series, but not loud backlash pop (i hate that red neck sound) it sounds awesome just deep deep throaty sound. sounds like a cross between an ls1 and a 4.6 of a mustang GT. people love it! people always ask me where they can get them.

their is nothing like a set of glasspacks, should be loud enough for you.

if you are gonna do lts then definitely keep it true dual...also, the pacesetters are awesome header, I have them myslef...and from there back run 2.5" piping and I would suggest going through an xpipe then through two flowmaster super 40 mufflers (they are amazing) and then just turn it down by the rear axle...it'll sound great

That will eliminate the need for the Y Pipe that Pacesetter sells, correct?

I'm running the PaceSetter LT's with the y-pipe through a 24" magnaflow. Very mean sounding, no too loud. There was a lot of resonance with the stock manifolds but has disappeared with the headers.
