I put a single 3" flowmaster 40 series muffler on my truck with 3" aluminum pipe. It sounds great for around $200. Gotta wait for the big paycheck and it's time for a PCM tune.

 

A lot of people on this board don't like Flowmasters, but I've dynoed tested and drag raced in the muscle car heads up classes a lot over the years and Flowmasters are hard to beat and they sound great too!

 

A 40 Series is what's on my Z71... I like the sound and SUPRISINGLY it has no drone at cruise. It's a SI/DO Delta Flow.

 

I've used them on several cars and I've always liked them. I did Si/So 3" exiting in the stock location so that it would be different. It seems that everyone has the split tail pipe system. I also get a good deal on my work and don't see the point in buying a $100+ muffler.

 

I liked my flowmaster 40 series delta. The really nice thing was that there was no resonence. It was loud but on the freeway it was actually very quiet.

I like my magnaflow now for the low end torque I got back, but its hard to beat the sound of a flowmaster

 

seat of the pants wise, the car pulls harder from idle-redline. After a month or two i'll be able to afford AZSM's and a tune.
