Default exaust size?

i should be putting duels on the truck by the end of the week. talking to the guy at the shop over the phone, he suggested 2 1/4" tubing since that's what is already on the truck behind the O2 sensors. i thought i heard somewhere that it was 2 1/2"?? if it is 2 1/4" will that make a difference in performance?

2.25" pipe will give you more lowend. I am thinking of changing my 2.5 between my x and mufflers to 2.25 after I get it on the dyno and see what it has to say. I felt a little bit of lowend loss when i put on my headers and duals at the same time from my single 3" system I had.

crazyidiot and i both have the 4.8 and were both considering the true duals, but for our engines which would be better a x-pipe or h-pipe? does one lose low end torque or something?

Go ahead and use the x-pipe but go with 2.25 pipe on the 4.8 and let us know how it works. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

nobody around town has the xpipe so i think i'm just gunna get them to put true duals on it and when i can get one ordered have it put it. so i guess i'm goin with 2 1/4" tubing cuz i need all the low end torque i can get.
