Does it immediately turn off after he cranks it? If it does then there is a procedure that takes like 30 mins and it will fix that. I forget what it is called, security relearn? or crank relearn. Not sure. I know you start it and it dyes. Leave the key on for about 7-8 minutes until the lock thing on the cluster quits flashing. Turn the key all the way of for 10 seconds then start again and repeat 3 times.

Not sure if thats your problem, but it could be.

The SEC light doesn't always stay on, you still need to perform the security relearn. Once the security relearn is performed, you can perform the crank relearn with a Tech II or a tool of the like.

The crank relearn can be performed with a diagnostics tool like a Tech II. EFILive and HPTuners can perform the relearn as well, your engine guy should know what to do.

The security relearn instructions came in the PCM box.

Yep, just do the security relearn first.

my engine guy has been attempting the security relearn kast night but its not getting him anywhere...
just to verify
1-attempt to start truck...release key (keep it in the on position, do not turn key off)
2-let sit for ten minutes until light goes out(on my truck theres no light at all)
3-take key out and let it sit for a minute...
4-repeat steps three times?
