Default Engine stands....

Here's another quick question for you guys. What size/length bolts are you all using to mount the engines to an engine stand (the type that enable you to rotate the engine/block).

Thanks again!

That's what I figured, I was a little unsure since the bolt diameter seemed a little small to support everything. I need to check the thread size and maybe find some stainless rod and a few nuts and washers. It's times like this I wish I had my Helms manauls on CD.

Get a bolt the same size, just longer and screw it into the block. It will hold up fine.

10mm, 1.5 pitch by 100 or 150 mm long depending on how long the lugs on your particular stand are. I just bought some about an hour ago. Hope this helps.

Yep, got the specs from my Helms Manual. 100mm here, picked up a few nuts and used them to shorten a few of them. So how did you all get the motor to bolt up. I made it way too hard at first trying to get the motor to the stand. It was much easier removing the asssembly from the stand and bolting that the the engine, then sliding it and the motor into the stand. Can you tell I don't do this everyday?

I wished I would have thought of doing it that way ... I had mine on a crate, just drove the lawnmower cart the crate was sitting on up onto some bricks to get it to the right height. I wished I would have thought about your way cause it seems a lot easier.
