Yeah mine was a PITA the 1st time too. Those dowel pins can really stick bad. Had to use a pry bar between the trans and engine, marred up the trans housing pretty good too.

Use a dead blow mallet and give it a few good blows and it should pop loose, if not a prybar between the block and the bellhousing oughta do the trick

Exactly. They can be bitch. Also try to hit it around the pins on the tranny, with the dead blow while a buddy trys to split the to apart..

we used a hammer and a prybar to get mine out... No body is goin to be lookin under your truck so it dont matter.

Ok for everyones information who told me there are 9 bolts there were ONLY 8 i just had to use a flathead screw driver and the whole engine poped right off. Thanks alot for everyones help, the engine swap is complete by the way.

When you put the new motor in, put some anti-sieze on the dowels. Makes it easier for the next time!
