Default Efan Relays - How much?

Autozone's were last $2.5, then the Bosch are $9, now some local guys is telling me they're $30?! Maybe this is why I keep toasting relays, I'm buying the wrong ones? I assumed they're the widely used 30-80's? Can get the whole harness for $99! WTF...what are u guys paying?

$2.89 for a single relay. The specs are "12 VDC Waterproof 5-Pin Relay SPDT 30/40A with Metal Bracket". Been using three of these relays for 2 years with no problems on a LS1 fan. I get the parts from a local electronics store in Ohio.

I have heard most people paying in the neighborhood of $5.00 per.

Looks like I've been running 30amp relays instead of the 40's that have been recommended on this thread, and the Blackbear harness just showed up with 40's too! Im guessin' that might have been part of my issue?
If I wrap the relay package with a balloon to make it waterproof, will it overheat them?
