Default eFan/Nelson Harness Installation Question

I am just about done installing my 05 fans using a Neslon harness. Everything is done except pin 42.

The instructions say to remove the gray cover from the blue connector. How does it come off? I am afraid that I will break it.

Also which pin is pin 42? I forgot to check that befor I tore it all apart.

Thanks.

the cover just snaps in, i had to work with it for few minutes to get it off. when you get it off and remove the blue cover you will see that the slots are labeled. i pushed the connector in as far as i could then i grabbed it from the other side with needle nose pliers and gently pulled it in until it seated. then reverse steps

Good to hear....I had a bitch of a time getting the pin to go in all the way, ended up taking a paper clip and wedging it down next to the wire to get it all the way down.

I also had a hard time getting the pin in the first time that I tried. I put a small amount of dielectric grease on the outside of the pin and it slid right into place when I tried it again.

It was nice to do a project where everything literally bolts right in. That doesn't happen very often in my experience. The hardest part of the whole project was getting the lower radiator hose off. It was stuck on there pretty good.

The Nelson harness really makes this an easy job...just connect 4 wires.

I did the same install last weekend, very nice upgrade. Hardest part for me was getting the rad to fit with my FIPK heat shield...they both occupy the same real estate. Had to modify the heat shield to make it work. Besides that, it was straight forward.

Yea, getting that pin in the PCM is a bit of a PITA.
