Ebay/OBX style header install w/plenty of PICS (LONG, but detailed)

alright, so they're rattling on the front drive shaft during low RPM driving (mostly when taking off or shifting low). how hard is the metal? i'm thinking about just trying to use the back end of a huge punch or something to just dent the primary in a bit there by the u-joint. does that sound like it would work alright?
also still waiting on a retune - Justin's scan cables are still all out
and have been for almost a month. it's just a good thing the tires i was about to buy back home were all on backorder & so i was able to just drive the car instead - that was an 1800+mi trip
really, you can even use the resonators & just leave off the merge pipe.

I've got a 2000 Silvy 2500 4x4 with a 6.0. I understand the Y is different, as my truck has factory duals back the muffler, but the headers should fit, correct? Like if I'm re-doing the whole exhaust system anyway? I'll just use the headers, not the Y pipe stuff. These should work, right?

zebra86: A big prybar (or something similar) would work better IMHO, if you have one. You may not even have to "bend" anything. You'll probably be fine with some "adjustment" instead. I'm sure they will give, just like any brand header will, enough to clear.

yeah... okay!!
i'm gonna go shift the engine over now
wouldn't wanna put a brick wall in the way of my airflow
so just lean into it a little with a prybar & it should give enough? i work in a hangar tool room - i'm sure i can find something sturdy enough to get the job done

Shifting the engine is a piece of cake, loosen up the motor mount bolts, put a floor jack with a piece of wood under the oil pan, and just work it over. You can use a pry bar on the motor mounts and/or just move the floor jack to the passenger side. If you have a helper have them work the jack while you pry. Took me all of 10 minutes to shift my engine over, with minimal damage to my header primary, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Absolutely, you thought I was joking
Ask andrew383...he had the same issues with the headers on one of his rides, but after swapping in an LS1 he suddenly had tons of clearance...I'd have to assume that was because the engine was in a slightly different position than the one he pulled out

ok i have a question. i have been reading through this thread and i must of missed it. with the dummy cats is anyone able to pass the sniffer test for emissions? we have the test where i live and for the price they seem hands down winner but wanted to ask first
