Did you open up the cover yet? Change your fluid lately? Might wanna just change the fluid and add a friction modifier.

Yep, mine started that crap in the fall of 2002 and by the spring of '03 it was clunking and popping and peg legging all the time not just once in a while like when it first started to go. Put in an carbon fiber eaton and you will be happy.

I just ordered a auburn posi going to put it in this saturday. Has anyone had any problems with the auburns ?
I had one in my old truck and it worked great never had any problems.
I also heard that auburns arent rebuildable, is this true ?
Anyway sorry to hear about your posi dude.

Whats the difference with the carbon fiber eaton? And which springs did you use in yours?

carbon fiber = strongest material available (harder to break)
my carbon fiber eaton came with yellow springs.

i got the yellow springs in my carbon fiber too. yes, you can't rebuild the auburns, but the Eaton's can be rebuilt. with the carbon fiber clutches, you don't have to add the posi additive

When I bought my Eaton carbon fiber posi, i was told not to get the auburn by a reputable axle specialist...u might want to re-consider going with auburn.
