Default E-Fans and Warranty

Cant find any ifo on whether or not the LS1 E-fans will void the warranty. Its not something you can easily change back to take it to the dealer.

Any info? experiences?

Thanks

Nothing can void your warranty entirely

However if your e-fan installation were to cause your engine to overheat thus causing more severe damage, your powertrain warranty may be voided. Same goes for some possibly eletrical warranty issues. But to say an e-fan installation caused the fabric on the seat to tear, or the door panel to not fit properly is bogus.

You just have to remember that "you have to pay to play." If your worried about things breaking, this hobby of fixing up vehicles may not be for you.

Ok, then this will lead to a different question.
How reliable are these LS1 efan conversions? I use my truck for towing (max load 6-8 times a year) and that is my only real concern.

Also, I plan on lifting my truck, so its not going to be showing up at your local dragstrip. I just want more power period and better efficeincy. The gas milage increase it what interested me the most about this modification.

Thanks again

Well, I towed a 600lb trailer with a 500lb motorcycle on it, along with 500lbs of crap in my bed 500miles without a single problem. I don't know how it would fair with more of a load, but remember this: When you are cruising down the highway your clutch fan is not spinning. Air is just free flowing across your radiator. So therefore it is actually better protection with the electric fans because no matter how fast you are traveling if the coolant gets too hot the fans will come on.

Hi, I work at a dealer, I have e-fans on my 2004 z71 and we have put on several pro-comp lifts on brand new vehicles. As long as an aftermarket part doesn't affect durabillty. You are alright. Also to void your warranty, it is not as simple as saying your warranty is "voided". It is a big ordeal. The area service rep would have to be called in, a ton of paper work, not to mention a lot of aggravation. So don't be fooled by a sly service manager or writer.
