ok im over budget big time with not buying a used stall for my truck but e fans guy wants $400 for rad+fans installed idk
what is the real rwhp on these things all jokes aside for 1-2% not worth it
pushing 420hp on my 5.3 so gaining little as 4-8hp but some guys are claiming 30hp at dyno please help

I don't think its an appreciable HP gain, I did it for the massive difference it makes with the cold AC when idling in HOT Houston traffic.
$400 seems like a great price, if that includes everything. Here is what I paid for my system (installed by me):
$177: New OEM (Dorman) fan assembly for '05 Tahoe
$131: Nelson Harness
$60: Blackbear tune (in-person)
34" radiator = free (already included in my truck)
After the efan swap, my Alternator didn't last long, so that was additional cost:
$160: 145A Alternator
$36: ASP overdrive pulley

Rez, did you have to change the serp. belt size when you put the alt. overdrive pulley on. I have an overdrive pulley from a previous truck, but I just put belts on the truck about 2 weeks ago. I'm going to do LS1 fans in the near future.
Thanks and sorry for threadjacking,

The only reason I am upgrading to Efans is because I can't fit my turbo coldside with the 34" radiator. I need the added cooling capacity.
When I had ls1 efans in the past there was no appreciable power gain

I have the 145amp alternator from the factory (over the 105 amp in the pickups, I believe). I have not had any problems with it powering my stereo (two PPI amps, totaling about 350 watts rms) and efans. You could probably pick up a 145amp alternator for less than $75 on ebay or at a pick-a-part and swap it out.

its worth 8-12 hp and the same in torque, definately noticeable in my old 3000 lb s-10 but in a 4000-5000 lb truck, eh.however like stated by others cant hear it like the clutch fan and it frees up room in front of the motor. plus if you are like me and have the 28" core radiator, you will appreciate the larger 34" cooling capacity as you increase hp, especially in hot summers
