Default E-Fan problem.

Yesterday I installed LS1 fans with a White1 harness and a wait4me tune but I'm having a problem. The install went ok, no major problems but when I turn the A/C on both fans turn on high instead of just one fan. Also, at idle when I turn the A/C on it cycles on and off a lot, which it didnt do until I installed the e-fans. Suggestions? It seems to cool fine and the truck runs great but those two things are bugging me. Thanks.

Jake

they should turn on as follows:
1. 1 fan high with a/c on, engine not to turn on temp
2. 2 fans on low with a/c off, engine above trigger temp.
3. 2 fans on high with the a/c on and engine at or above trigger temp
4. no fans with the a/c off and engine at temp.

I see that you have a wait4me - it has been discussed in the past that with his tunes the fans always run as if the truck is at the trigger temp, is that maybe what's happening? if so then they would always act as if the truck was at the low speed turn on temp.

Yep, mine function normally with the exception of both fans coming on high when the engine is below the trigger temp and I turn the A/C on. If the A/C is off they dont turn on until the engine reaches the trigger temp and then both fans come on low. I guess the tune is the cuplrit.

Looks like theres a table in the PCM called stall saver that is causing the A/C to engage and disengage at idle (thanks Z284THGEN). I'll give Jesse a call and see what he thinks, as well as have him double check the temp my fans come on at.

the big advantar of electric fans is improved performance with AC at low speeds...well taht and a bit of power when you're running hot.

Really? Mine dont run on low all the time, but both fans kick on high when the engine is cold and the A/C is on.

You know, I'm happy with the performance of my wait4me tune. It feels like a whole new truck and definately has more cajones than before but I hear more and more stories about Jesse being an *** when you call him. I'll give him a call when I can anyway and see what happens. As soon as I have the cash I will be going with HPTuners anyway.
