If it looks like it touched the header, it probably did. I don't think radiant heat would give you a concise burn spot.

I've had all the issues with the Dynatech headers you mention. For the p1057 code I replaced the rear O2's with the higher heat 02's from the corvette. Still got the code. Always just on passenger side. During my recent torque converter installs I found a nice leak in the joint behind the passenger cat and y-pipe. Think I have it sealed up and so far no more codes. I had turned off the SES light via HPtuners got it back on now to monitor and no codes for about 3wks now. I've also burnt the wires. The wires were touching the header. Tried the heat wraps and still burnt it. I've now got them tied back like Snakeoiler posted and they are now fine.

Plenty when they are the pre-cat ones. Where will you get the readings for the ECM? I don't have post-cat codes.

i ordered some casper o2 simulators yesterday from jegs summit has them for the same price after shipping.

but i read that you also need to wire up the o2 heaters so you dont trip a heater malfunction code, my question to you all is who has a wire diagram or know what wires are for the heater i have to get emissions tested next month so i got to get this fixed soon lol

thanks,
-Erik

At the level you are at, why not have the PCM reprogrammed and have that code removed?

well with the westers tune and where i live it cost me about 100 bux in shipping to send it to canada and back with insurance, so i dont wanna have to do that till i have a few more things to update it with. i think this go around i'm just gonna spring for ls1 edit and start doing it myself lol

also i still have to deal with emissions around here i dunno how picky thier equipment is i do know that they dont look under the hood or under the truck especially lowered ones

I thru the code on the 2nd O2 on the passenger side...all my research tells me that its about the lowere efficiency cats v the OEMs. I just had it turned tuned out after having it checked for fail and trying the Vette one. Not a serious issue in my opinion. R/

I never got the code for sensor 2 on either side. I was getting codes for sensor 1 so I changed them both. My rational is that sensor 1 is important and since the headers throw out much more heat and the sensor is old (hence the slowness) I replaced both the sensors. The rear I had the code deleted. Either case, I never had a code for the old sensors after the cats.
