drive by wire

Default drive by wire

i have a 03 gmc 5.3 that is a drive by wire thorttle bodie on it and i found another 5.3 that is for sale and the guy only wants $600 for the whole motor. my question is how hard will it be to but a cable thorttle on it. I know i could just switch the bodies over but i dont wont too if anyone knows how to do the swith please help me out.

Should be a simple swap over to change the TB over to the other motor. That said, why are you interested in buying an older 5.3L when you have a newer one now?

The one the quy is selling only has 8k on it and correct me if iam wrong but want i have more opitons with a cable then a DBW? like intake from ls6 and so on.

you can put the ls6 intake on dbw...no more option between the two really

k thanks for the help! do you know if i will pick up anymore hp on top end with the ls6 intake if so how much?

do a search for ls6 intake and see what you come up with...i'm going to say unless you're a h/c guy takin it beyond 6200rpm then it's not worth it performance wise...but if its something you really do, then do a search and see what all you need to do it and go for it. I personally want to just because it cleans up the engine compartment real nice like
