Ive messed with it a little bit. I drilled out my hole a few sizes bigger and slightly adjusted the throttle stop. Its not perfect yet, but its getting there. Cold i dont get a perfect start, but warm it starts up no problem and no issue with high idle. I think im going to go one size bigger on the drill bit and reduce the throttle stop and see where that gets me. The IAC should be able to make up for some of it to smooth out the idle, ill hook up the laptop and watch the steps and data.

quit drilling if you do not have a scanner to see what your IAC is doing. quit screwing throttle position if you dont have a scanner to watch the TPS voltage. that's my suggestion.

i'm missing you here. the IAC can range from 0-160 (off memmory). so 60-80 is right in the middle zone of of 0 IAC (min) and 160 count (max). you mentioned seeing zero IAC at idle on your truck...i would never expect to see zero at idle. that means you have no control over your idle (and way too much air is getting past the throttle blade on an EFI setup). max closed can be just as problematic as max open.

I have a v2 and EFIlive to watch the IAC. im at 0% TPS at idle and it doesnt fluctuate. Idle is perfect when driving and after warm start up. I need to confirm what IAC is at to see if I have room to adjust a little more so that cold start up works without giving it some throttle.

What way does it work? If im low on IAC steps, I have room to give it more air, and if im high on IAC steps, I am getting too much air?

do a search for the russ k idle airflow config. it will help with those cold start issues.

or send me your e-mail address and i will send the config to you.

basically you run the config from a cold start in park a few times. then run the config from a cold start in gear a few times. turn off the electric fans and let it idle without touching it until it gets to 260* engine temp. it will spit out some numbers that you paste into your tune. it helps a ton with cold start.

Cold engine key on, start scanning (disable e-fans), then start engine & let idle till 250* temp without touching the throttle. Then copy the #1 idle desired airflow histogram (average) and paste into the RAF table of the editor. Make sure that the same units (imp. or metric) are used in both the scanner & editor.

Repeat in gear if A4 trans.

i had the best results by running the config a few times.
