i've got tri-y long tubes on my 454SS, i hate them. they look like crap and are impossible to take off without pulling the motor. im not sure where you could find a set, mine were on the truck when i bought it, maybe give Thorley a call...

You can't find them because they're listed for '00-'01 trucks and are illegal for '02 & up model years in some states. You'll only find shorties for the newer models, but you won't see gains out of them.
310Y-C is Thorley part number for coated headers, 310Y is the non coated.

I have Tri-ys in my '06 and I was impressed with the quality & fitment, I saw gains all across the powerband but more noticeable in the 1500-4500 rpm range, right were you want it in a DD. Money well spent IMO.

its not about the price, its about the function of the tri-y and its ability to make more low end power than a standard lt, to me its worth it because my truck is mostly a dd, the gains seen will be in the powerband i see everyday. not only that, its got a carb #.

600 bucks for a coated header that will rust in va weather in a year, won't have but a few more tq numbers in low and mid range then a standard LT, or a SS header that is the same price and will never rust
Not to mention he will be running a 3k stall, where the Tri Y's won't being doing anything after that rpm range any way..

im sure the pacesetters would do just fine for me and hold up as im away from the coast, im all the way west towards the NW part of VA near the WV line so no real crazy wet climate like Mangled might see. BUT i just think its a better investment if i save up for stainless! Might take me awhile to save up for Stainless Works but i think it will be worth it. Might have to put the SW's on my christmas list
