Default Done Some Research...Now Some ?

Before anyone goes on ragging on about some of the parts that will be listed below I just want to know some pros and cons and some other ideas to maybe help me out with my truck. I recently was buying a LS1 Hot Cam only because I got a good deal on it. I know some people may not like them and some may I've read both sides. I'm just trying to find some other things I may need to go along with this I'm going to list what I have thus far on my truck and I would like to get some opinions on what else would work well together keep in mind this is a Daily Driver.

Current:
2000 Silverado Z71
5.3L w/ 4L60e
9" Lift w/ 37's
4.88 Gears F & R
Corvette Servo
Pacesetter Longtubes and ORY
Single Chamber Muffler

Currently Bought but Yet Installed:
LS1 Hot Cam
LS1 Fans

I'm looking for things I might need still or some other small things that would make extra power and work well with my setup. I know everyone is gonna say why did I waste my money on that cam but I got a good deal on it and I am on a budget here. I do know one thing else I need is the Yellow Springs before I do the cam swap and I do know it will need to be tuned. Also going to buy another CAI just so it can get a little more air. Anyones help and opinions would be appreciated. Thanks

Save your money on the CAI and get a stall converter. It will be far more beneficial than a CAI ever will.

Please don't take this the wrong way but sometimes you have to look at a "Good Deal" by more than the price. Whats the point in saving 50-100 bucks on a cam that you are going to hate and remove later for something better? Thats twice the work. Plenty of people are more than disappointed by that cam in a regular weight truck. Add the fact that you are lifted and heavier is just going to make it that much more worse. I just don't see you liking that cam once installed. Next time think it through and try to compare more prices. you can usually find a really good deal on some cams.
Just food for thought. Not trying to start anything.

Looks like you've already got a good jump with the gears and headers. I'd say a Stall and a good tune from one of our sponsors should get you running good aside from what I've already mentioned.

Possibly interested in the intake for the right price, I sold mine to my buddy and kinda miss the sound haha...I had already planned on the converter for sure but unsure what stall to get was thinking between 2800-3200 but wasn't for sure which would be the best. Also any perferred brand of intake or throttle body or any suggestions?

Make your own CAI if possible. Just find whatever is cheapest that you like best as there isn't really much of a difference from one to the other. The Circle D 278MM stalled to 3200 would be a great choice for it's driveability. I have one and Love it but want to get a bigger stall for my goals.

As far as an actual intake the truck intake will net you the best low end tq you'll need.

What about as far as throttle bodies in particular one? size? Are injectors worth it or underdrive pulleys? I know its just simple bolt on stuff but is it worth it...

I agree, go with about a 3200 stall with that cam, the Circle-D 278mm is a good choice. Unfortunately, the problem with that cam is lazy lobes which equal poor low end torque and tough tuneability, but a good tuner should be able to handle it, and there will be gains. It's also known to not be the most efficient cam, even with such small lift, as I mentioned, it all comes down to the lazy lobes. It is an LT1 cam that was adapted to the LS1 at it's inception...but when you're broke (I know how that goes), it's still fun to do whatever mods you can afford to do. If you can afford it, hardened pushrods are nice insurance, and can be reused if you ever decide to upgrade the cam.

I've heard idle clips of that cam, and it sounds cool, fwiw...

Yea i'd agree from the videos I've seen it sounds pretty good. Also i'm not looking for a huge cam...just something with a difference over stock since my truck is a daily driver.

edit: Guess I don't have to worry bout that cam the ******** I was buying it from sold it out from under me so anyone else got some options on a good cam for the price for a daily driver...

Any idea if a 08 Z06 Cam would fit the lift is .588/.593 but I cant find any other specs on it. I found a decent deal on this if it would work.
