The Ls7 has no reluctor wheel/pickup sensor in the rear of the cam like the GEN III motors do (YOUR MOTOR). If you wanted to run that cam, you would have to get the 1.8 rockers, LS2 front timing cover, cam sensor, LS2 timing gear and then extend your harness from the rear to the front of the motor.

The TSP 220 that I have is for GEN III motors . . . just like what you have . . .
You'll need either PAC springs, 918s or PRC duals to run it . . . it's up to you. Hardened 7.4 pushrods, reuse the stock retainers, and locks.

A high winding car cam not worth a damm in a lifted 4x truck. They are two completely different beasts with different needs when looking at camshaft selection. Do your homework here and you will be rewarded with great power driveability and gas mileage. **** up and you will have a truck that a KIA can outrun until you get to 2500-3K plus RPM and lousy gas mileage.

Ok, so i've been told like 10 different things as far as cams and which one to pick...someone give me some knowledgeable info so I can get one picked out and bought. What is a good cam for my truck being a daily driver and also lifted? Seems as if everyone I nearly decide on isn't a good cam...I'm seriously about to say **** on it and not even do one and put the money elsewhere I guess

Those are all great bottom end cams

Ls6 - 01 - 204/211 0.525/0.525 Lsa 116
Ls6 - 02-up - 204/218 0.555/0.551 Lsa 117.5
any of these would be a great choice
No need to over cam a big lifted heavy 4x4 on big tires...why make it more of a slug
And dont cut corners or go for the cheaper parts you will regret it after its built

You want one of the listed cams because they make bottomend torque that you need

I had originally before I ever posted was deciding on a 02+ ls6 cam since you can usually pick one up decently priced but I was unsure about it. Is a torque converter a must with a ls6 cam or is it something that could be done down the road and would be fine for now since i'm on somewhat of a budget here.

a stall is not a must but will be helpful with the ls6 cam
I would go 212/218 cam over the LS6 in a 4x4
212/218 is gonna have better lowend torque
