Do 6.0L have y-pipes?
#1
I was looking at my dad's work truck, it is a 2000 GMC 2500 4x4 with the 6.0L. When I got down and looked at his exhaust, I noticed that his truck did not have a y-pipe. It had two seperate pipes coming from the exhaust manifolds and ran straigt to the muffler which never intersected, and then it went into a single 3" tail pipe. I also noticed that the tubing coming from the exhaust manifolds are huge, a lot bigger than my 5.3's. Is this normal?

I have a 6.0 liter Denali and its the same way each manifold pipe goes into the muffler seperately, then a single outlet. One thing I noticed is that the drivers side pipe has to cross over, because the muffler is on the passenger side,it is flattened out as it crosses over. When I get my asm headers I think I'm going to replace that with full diameter pipe. Mines lowered and I will still have enough clearance.
